Blunt B*tch: A High-Flying Journey from Passion to Business.
26 weeks ago, I took a giant leap of faith and started the Blunt B*tch Instagram account. (we just passed 1k in followers also, woop woop!) I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and some days, I still don’t. Starting a real business was uncharted territory for me, and I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to turn my love for cannabis into a career. I was afraid that one day, my passion for cannabis would just be a phase ( I know, crazy) or that I would grow to hate turning something I did to relax and unwind into a Fortune 500 company (or in my case, the Canadian version). But as you’ll soon discover, I’m not one to shy away from big dreams.
Starting the Blunt B*tch account was a brave step out of my comfort zone. I was a closeted consumer for various reasons, which we’ll delve into one day, but mainly because whenever I brought it up, I was met with hushing and told not to talk about it, and definitely not to post anything online about it. But here we are, 26 weeks later, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From that day on, my life changed. I finally found a direction that gave me purpose, my happy. My business isn’t just about smoking weed and getting high. It’s about community, inclusion and just being your d*mn self.
Every day, I have to be myself to chase this dream of mine. It wouldn’t work out if I didn’t. I have to be BLUNT, I have to be BRAVE and I have to be KIND. To myself and those around me. Because it just wouldn’t work out if I wasn’t. Ya, know?
Starting this journey has been a wild ride of emotions, but through it all, I’ve learned the importance of being true to yourself and standing up for what you believe in. I’ve also discovered a community of like-minded individuals who are just as passionate about cannabis as I am. And this has shaped my business. Now, we’re not just a blog about cannabis, we’re a message: “Cannabis can be positive,” and we’re fighting negative stigmas through our unique and high-quality 420 apparel! I learned so much through this process, and I have so much more learning to go! Everything you see from our store items, website to social media – we do all in house.
So, if you’re thinking about starting a business one day or if you’re a closeted cannabis consumer, my advice to you is to be brave and step out of your comfort zone. You never know where it might take you. The only way we can fight negative stigmas, is through positive conversations
(of course, take with a grain of salt they say. Don’t be a dumba*s if you aren’t in a legal state.)
