CBD has become one of the most popular cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant over the past few years. However, two new cannabinoids have recently gained popularity: CBG and CBN. CBG is derived from CBGa, which is considered the “stem cell” of cannabinoids, while CBN is the product of the degradation of THC. CBG and CBN, like CBD, are non-intoxicating and offer potential health benefits. CBG is used in various applications and may help support the functionality of anandamide, a neurotransmitter that regulates sleep, pain, appetite, motivation, and pleasure. CBN has possible antibacterial, neuroprotective, and appetite-stimulating benefits. While CBD and CBG share similar effects, they interact with neuroreceptors uniquely, and research suggests that combining cannabinoids may help enhance their effects overall.
